CNC accuracy problem diagnosis is a service for situations where you know “something is wrong” but not what: dimensions drift, parts are non-repeatable, and successive parameter adjustments do not help. Our task is to structure the picture of the problem: determine what can be assessed by measurement, what measurement will not decide, and what the credible directions for further action are. The result is a technical report, not a “remote repair”. We qualify the scope of work individually — it depends on the machine, purpose, on-site conditions and available equipment.

  • plants with a recurring quality problem whose cause is disputed between production, the maintenance department and service,
  • companies after unsuccessful repair attempts — before ordering another “trial” component replacement,
  • buyers or sellers of a machine when the parties differ in their assessment of its condition,
  • companies after a collision or failure that want to assess the consequences for accuracy.

When it is worth ordering

When symptoms are inconsistent (sometimes good, sometimes bad), when the error depends on position on the table, approach direction or temperature, or when service claims the “machine is fine” but the parts say otherwise. A good starting point is reading the symptom description on the page CNC does not hold dimension — it helps to make the report more specific.

What the scope covers

  • technical interview: machine history, symptoms, repair attempts, process conditions,
  • visual inspection of the machine and its surroundings (mounting, temperature, vibrations),
  • measurement plan tailored to the symptoms — from repeatability assessment to geometry measurements,
  • execution of qualified measurements on site,
  • analysis of results against process symptoms.

What the scope does not cover

  • we do not guarantee finding one final cause — some problems are complex and the report then indicates a hierarchy of hypotheses with evidence,
  • we do not repair the machine or program the process,
  • we do not assess CNC control electronics in areas requiring intervention in the electrical cabinet,
  • this is not a formal ISO calibration or calibration to a reference standard.

How the process works

  1. Report with description of symptoms (the more specific the better — dimensions, directions, repeatability of the problem).
  2. Qualification of measurement scope and diagnostic plan.
  3. On-site visit: interview, visual inspection, measurements.
  4. Analysis and technical report with conclusions.
  5. Discussion of results and recommended steps.

What the client receives — technical report

The report structures the problem: description of symptoms and conditions, measurements performed with results, assessment of credible causes (what the results confirm, what they rule out, what they do not decide) and recommendations — e.g. a specific scope of service work, further measurements or organisational changes. Such a document ends speculation and allows the repair budget to be planned rationally.

Diagnosis often leads to CNC axis accuracy measurement or CNC geometry measurement. After repair it is worth considering CNC repair acceptance, and if the problem appeared after the machine was moved — CNC relocation assessment. Can you diagnose the problem remotely?

The interview and scope qualification can be conducted remotely, but reliable accuracy diagnosis requires measurements on the machine.

What if it turns out the machine is OK?

That is also a valuable result — the report rules out the machine as the cause and directs analysis towards the process, tooling or material.

How long does diagnosis take?

It depends on the complexity of symptoms and the qualified scope — from a few hours to 1–2 days on site.
