CNC machine accuracy assessment is an independent inspection aimed at answering the question: what is the current geometric and positional state of the machine — not according to the seller’s declaration or service memory, but based on the visual inspection and measurements performed. The commission ends with a technical report describing the actual state of the machine together with an interpretation of the results. The scope of work is always qualified individually — it depends on the machine, purpose of the assessment, on-site conditions and available equipment.

Who this service is for

  • companies buying a used CNC machine tool that want to verify the seller’s declaration before signing the contract,
  • plants where parts no longer fit within tolerance and it is necessary to determine whether the machine is the cause,
  • maintenance departments needing an objective reference point before a planned repair or after its completion,
  • companies needing documentation of the machine condition for internal, insurance or negotiation purposes.

When it is worth ordering

The most common situations are: deterioration of process accuracy without changing the program and tooling, suspicion of guideway or ball screw wear, a machine collision, longer downtime, relocation of the machine in the hall, and the decision to sell or buy. What the scope covers

  • visual inspection of the machine: condition of guideways, ball screws, covers, cooling, levelling and foundation, within the range available without disassembly,
  • assessment of positioning repeatability of selected axes,
  • geometry measurements (e.g. straightness, axis squareness, levelling) within the agreed scope,
  • laser positioning measurement — after agreeing the scope and availability,
  • discussion with the operator and review of available service documentation.

The scope of each assessment depends on the machine, purpose, on-site conditions and available equipment — before starting work we agree it in the form of a measurement scope qualification.

What the scope does not cover

  • this is not a formal ISO calibration or calibration to a reference standard — we do not issue calibration certificates,
  • we do not perform repairs or mechanical adjustment of the machine,
  • we do not assess elements that require disassembly of covers or assemblies,
  • we do not guarantee that the machine will achieve a specific accuracy after the assessment — the report describes the condition, it does not predict the result of a repair.

How the process works

  1. Machine submission via the form — type, CNC control, location, purpose.
  2. Measurement scope qualification and proposed scope of work.
  3. Agreement of date and on-site conditions (access, production break).
  4. Visual inspection and measurements at the customer’s site.
  5. Processing of results and delivery of the technical report with a discussion.

What the client receives — technical report

The report contains: machine identification and measurement conditions, a list of the activities performed, results with units and reference to measurement points, interpretation (what the result means for process accuracy) and recommendations for next steps — e.g. direction of service diagnostics or purchasing decision. The report can be used in negotiations with the supplier, service or internal quality department.

Frequently asked questions

Is accuracy assessment the same as calibration?

No. Calibration in the formal sense is a calibration activity with a defined procedure and accredited documentation. Our service is an independent inspection and accuracy assessment — it describes the actual condition of the machine; it does not replace calibration.

How long does the on-site assessment take?

It depends on the qualified scope and type of machine — from a few hours to a full working day. The time is agreed after the measurement scope qualification.

Do you assess machines outside Poland?

Yes, travel and conditions are agreed individually — also for cross-border commissions.
